PENGARUH EKSTRAK MORINGA OLEIFERA TERHADAP AKTIVITAS ANTIOKSIDAN SEDIAAN SERUM

Abstract

Kelor (Moringa oleifera) dikenal sebagai "miracle plant" karena kandungan senyawa antioksidannya yang sangat tinggi, menjadikannya sumber antioksidan alami yang potensial dan bermanfaat bagi tubuh. Salah satu pemanfaatannya adalah dengan mengekstrak daun kelor dan mengolahnya menjadi sediaan serum yang dapat melindungi kulit dari kerusakan akibat stres oksidatif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh ekstrak daun kelor terhadap aktivitas antioksidan dalam sediaan serum. Ekstrak daun kelor diperoleh menggunakan metode maserasi yang kemudian diformulasikan dalam sediaan serum. Untuk mengukur aktivitas antioksidan sedian serum, digunakannya metode 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) dengan spektrofotometer UV-Vis sehingga diperoleh nilai IC50. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan nilai IC50 sediaan serum dengan ekstrak daun kelor sebanyak 0%, 3%, dan 6% secara berturut-turut 19467.42 ?g/ml, 11910.89 ?g/ml, dan 7889.45 ?g/ml. Dengan demikian, terdapat pengaruh penambahan ekstrak daun kelor pada formula sediaan serum. Aktivitas antioksidan akan meningkat seiring dengan bertambahnya konsentrasi ekstrak daun kelor yang digunakan. Namun, untuk mencapai efektivitas antioksidan yang maksimal, diperlukan metode ekstraksi dan formulasi serum yang lebih tepat dan efisien.
